Seaside Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives has promoted Ali Ashfaq to Front Office Manager. With over a decade of experience across five internationally recognised brands and two local establishments, Ashfag brings a wealth of industry knowledge. Commencing his career as a waiter at the age of 18, Ashfag transitioned to the front office eight years ago, embarking on his journey as a butler.
From curating exceptional experiences to maintaining impeccable service standards, Ashfag consistently excels in his roles. He embraces the concept that leadership is an ongoing journey, considering his own future self in a decade as his guiding role model. Demonstrating unwavering commitment to principles of integrity, discipline, and humility, he embodies the same qualities he has admired in those he has been fortunate to collaborate with throughout his distinguished career in the industry.
Upon joining Seaside Finolhu Maldives, he initiated transformative initiatives that elevated the establishment to unprecedented levels of excellence. Notably, Ashfag introduced the innovative concept of personalised butler service, redefining standards and setting new benchmarks for luxury and guest satisfaction.
In a strategic move, Ashfag spearheaded a comprehensive recruitment effort, handpicking and training individuals who now embody the essence of butler service, referred to as “Roohu’s” in the distinctive parlance of Finolhu. His commitment to developing a highly skilled team has resulted in the front office becoming one of the most efficient and functional departments on the island. Recognising his exceptional performance, Ashfag was promoted to Front Office Manager in October following a meticulously crafted development plan.
Ashfag’s academic achievements include graduating from Cornell University and successfully completing a Master’s Certificate in Hospitality Management and Hotel Revenue Management. This unique combination of hands-on experience and academic excellence positions him as an exemplary leader, celebrating not only his youth but also his remarkable expertise and achievements in the hospitality sector.
His direct guidance for aspiring young hoteliers centres on embracing five key values: Integrity, a positive attitude, emotional intelligence, humility, and kindness. He emphasises that possessing the right mindset in hospitality creates opportunities across all departments.
