The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives) announced its support for a variety of events aimed at promoting Chinese and Maldivian cultural tourism and experiences.
This announcement follows a special event hosted by MMPRC to celebrate the inaugural direct flight from China’s Fujian Province to the Maldives. MMPRC is backing events organised by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Maldives, as well as a special delegation from the Fujian Provincial People’s Government. These events are scheduled to take place over two days, from the 14th to the 15th of February 2024.
These promotional activities fall under the China-Maldives Cultural Exchange initiative, serving as a significant platform for strengthening ties and facilitating partnerships to enhance cooperation in various areas, including cultural tourism, trade, and investment.
Planned events include the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism Forum on Wednesday, which will be attended by high-level dignitaries from both the Maldives and China. This will be followed by a Chinese Folk Music Flash Mob and a Fujian Culture and Tourism Promotion Event the next day.
MMPRC consistently undertakes activities in this market to uphold the Maldives’ appeal as the top destination for Chinese travellers. With a vibrant exchange of cultural initiatives on the horizon, Visit Maldives is positioned to support deeper bilateral relationships, ultimately paving the way for a mutually beneficial relationship between the two nations.
