Amilla Fushi has appointed Shameem Ismail as it’s new Assistant Operations Manager effective 10th December 2019.
In this role, Shameem will provide strategic leadership and oversee the day to day operations of recreation, Sultan’s Village, Excursions, Fleet and third party operators including Shutterfish and Edition Shop at the resort.
A Maldivian native, Shameem brings 20 years of combined experience working in recreation, fleet, excursions and resort operations environment within the Maldives, where he gained deep operational experience. His strength lies in his proven track of collaborative and innovative leadership.
Shameem joins Amilla Fushi from his previous role as Director of Operations of the DABEN Industrial (Hong Kong) Limited, overseeing Maldives operations including its sales and marketing aspects. Shameem has extensive experience across various hospitality operation positions in the Maldives. He began his career in the hospitality industry at Anantara Dhigu Maldives in 1999, where he was initially appointed as a Receptionist and eventually promoted as Water Sports Manager after 10 months of joining.
Later on, Shameem, developed his career at Maafushivaru as Guest Relations Officer cum Acting Front Office Manager and evolved into various managerial positions including Excursions Manager at W Maldives (SilverSands), Transport Manager at Sheraton Maldives, Fleet Manager cum Duty Manager at Kurumba Maldives, Transport & Recreation Manager at Faarufushi Maldives and Senior Operations Manager at Jalboot Maldives, prior to joining DABEN Industrial (Hong Kong) Limited.
With regard to Shameem Ismail’s appointment as the Assistant Operations Manager, the resort’s Director of International Sales, Nasrulla Adam said, “I am so excited to have someone of Shameem’s caliber joining our leadership team.
