Amilla Maldives, located in the stunning Baa Atoll, recently hosted a successful football program for young in-house guests, organised by Aajeelakah Football Academy. From October 21 to November 2, 2024, this initiative was led by Owner and Founder of Aajeelakah Football Academy, Ismail Zaan Amir alongside sports psychologist and performance coach Martin Jimenez Toribio. Set in the lush green arena of Amilla Maldives, the program provided an enriching experience for young aspiring footballers.
Participants aged four to teens joined this journey with Aajeelakah Football Academy, which was carefully curated to enrich and develop their athletic skills while also providing essential life-skills development. The young participants took part in high-energy beach training sessions, specific field training, and special matches held for kids, teens and adults.
Coach Martin Jimenez Toribio, a seasoned professional in coaching and leadership, emphasised the importance of guiding young athletes. He said that equipping the young with tools to navigate the challenges they will inevitably face in the field is crucial for both physical and mental well-being.
“This journey in Amilla Maldives has been an incredible success,” said Founder Zaan. “Sports tourism can play an essential part in wellness and tourism, allowing guests to enjoy fitness while engaging in sports enrichment.”
