Amilla Maldives Reaches New Recognition in Sustainability and Responsible Hospitality

Amilla Maldives has achieved a series of significant milestones that reflect its ongoing commitment to responsible hospitality and sustainability. The resort has earned the Forbes Responsible Hospitality VERIFIED™ Badge 2025, been named Runner-Up for Best Hotel for Sustainability at the LLM Readers’ Travel Awards 2024, and received EarthCheck Silver Certification. These recognitions are a reflection of Amilla prioritising environmental stewardship, community engagement, and inclusivity.

Forbes Responsible Hospitality VERIFIED™ Badge 2025

Amilla Maldives is among the first 100 hotels globally to achieve the Forbes Responsible Hospitality VERIFIED™ Badge for 2025. This recognition follows last year’s honour as Responsible Hospitality Partner of the Year 2024 by Forbes Travel Guide. The badge acknowledges Amilla’s adherence to over 100 stringent standards designed to protect the environment and enhance the well-being of employees, guests, and local communities.

We are committed to continually evolving to ensure that every guest feels welcomed, while also preserving the natural beauty of Baa Atoll.”

LLM Readers’ Travel Awards 2024 Recognition

Amilla Maldives was also recognised as Runner-Up in the ‘Best Hotel for Sustainability’ category at the LLM Readers’ Travel Awards 2024. This accolade celebrates the resort’s continued innovation including a commitment to the Maldives Resilient Reefs Programme for sustainable reef fishing and efforts to reduce single-use plastics, all while promoting accessibility through its IncluCare certification.

“We are deeply grateful to the readers of LLM for this recognition,” McDougall shared. “This award inspires us to continue striving towards creating a harmonious balance between luxury, nature, and community.”

EarthCheck Silver Certification

In another significant achievement, Amilla Maldives has received the fourth year of EarthCheck Silver Certification. This certification reflects the resort’s ongoing dedication to meeting rigorous environmental and social responsibility standards.

“We are proud to receive the EarthCheck Silver Certification for the fourth year in a row,” said Zoe Cox, Sustainability Manager of Amilla Maldives. “We look forward to continuing our journey towards a more sustainable future, while helping preserve the natural beauty of the Maldives.”
