Centara Hotels & Resorts announces the appointment of Andrew Jansson as the Cluster General Manager for the upcoming Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives and Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives. Andrew brings nearly 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having held vital leadership roles across 14 countries with some of the world’s most renowned hotel companies, including Hyatt, Shangri-La, One&Only, and, most recently, Universal.
In his new role at Centara, Andrew will oversee the pre-opening and strategic development of Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives and Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives. His background in luxury resort operations and deep familiarity with the Maldivian market are expected to be instrumental in shaping the strategic and operational objectives for these properties. This will be critical in ensuring that Centara Grand Lagoon and Centara Mirage Lagoon not only meet but exceed the high expectations of discerning travellers.
Andrew’s expertise will play a key role in driving the successful launch and operational excellence of these new resorts. His prior experience with the local market equips him with valuable insights that will contribute to tailoring the properties’ offerings to align with both local expectations and international standards. This appointment is part of Centara’s broader strategy to reinforce its presence in the Maldives, complementing its two existing properties in the region and furthering its expansion ambitions.
