For the third consecutive year, the five-star resort in the pristine Raa Atoll has had one of its fantastic restaurants celebrated at these highly acclaimed awards.
Not only does Ginger Moon® thrive at providing platters and bowls of vibrant and sizzling Asian street market food, but it is also pioneering the restaurant industry in the destination. Ginger Moon® was the first restaurant in the Maldives to have an all-female culinary team led by Head Chef, Chef May. Originally from Thailand, Chef May’s team are from Jakarta, UAE, Phuket, Kazakhstan, and India.

“Establishing this stellar team was not a journey without its obstacles. The first two months were challenging as some of the women on my team had no experience in the catering industry. They didn’t let this hold them back, and with perseverance and hard work, they rose to the challenge. I feel very fortunate to work with people of so many different nationalities and experiences; in fact, I find it inspiring and feel it has helped us mould into the family we are today – guests can often see us go swimming as a team or enjoying a sunset!”
