Cora Cora Maldives, the five-star resort in the pristine Raa Atoll, announced the appointment of its new Director of Operations, Ahmed Muizz Mohamed. Formerly the Director of Human Resources, Muiz has been with Cora Cora Maldives since its pre-opening and is delighted to start this new chapter with the stunning resort.
In his new role as Director of Operations, Muiz will continue his mission of prioritising equal opportunities for Cora Cora Maldives’ staff and supporting training and education initiatives for local residents, particularly women. Muiz believes that a core aim for any organisation is a balance between sustainable employment and economic benefit.
“I have loved working with the incredible Cora Cora Maldives team, and I am excited to move departments and take on the new role of Director of Operations. Having been at the resort for four years, I have seen it secure its position as an eco-conscious destination and a goal of mine for my new position will be to emphasise the importance of sustainability both socially and environmentally, continue community engagement, and enhance the resort’s already renowned reputation for fantastic guest experience” enthuses Ahmed Muizz Mohamed, Director of Operations.
With over 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Muiz began as an HR Assistant at Sun Island Resort & Spa in Maldives and had an illustrious career working up to managerial roles that took him across the Indian Ocean destination giving him a wealth of valuable knowledge. During his role as Director of Human Resources, Muiz emphasised the importance of investing in employee development and job satisfaction, fostered a work environment where employees are motivated and engaged, and cultivated an impressive brand culture centred around sustainability and inclusivity.
Muiz believes that the hospitality industry can be incredibly rewarding as, not only are you providing guests with unforgettable holidays, but also opportunities are created for local communities thus empowering citizens and the local economy. With a positive mindset, a focus on continuous improvement, and a supportive work environment, Muiz is excited at the prospect of being Cora Cora Maldives’ Director of Operations.
