Gili Lankanfushi Maldives has announced that the property will re-open on 1st December 2019.
The property has been closed for maintenance after the dangerous fire incident that took place earlier this year.
A massive fire at the award-winning Gili Lankanfushi Resort completely destroyed a large part of the eco-friendly resort including seven water villas, the kitchen and the restaurant.
All the guests and staff were accounted for evacuated from the island with alternative accommodation arranged for guests by Gili Lankanfushi to Jumeirah Vittaveli, Huvafenfushi Maldives, and Four Seasons Kuda Hura.
According to the Gili Lankanfushi website, the rebuilding of the resort is in progress and it is expected that the construction will be done by the end of November right in time for the announced return of the Gili Magic.
Located on North Male’ Atoll, Gili Lankfushi Maldives opened in 2000 as the original over-water resort, Soneva Gili.
In 2012, the island was acquired by HPL (Hotel Properties Limited) a Singaporean based-company investing in hotels, lifestyles and properties around the world.
