This February, Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa celebrates the auspicious beginning of the Year of the Dragon with seasonal menus, curated wellness experiences and a host of engaging activities.
On February 10, Beach Shack will host a lively Beach Market themed buffet on the seashore, with delectable dishes including yu sheng salad, Hainanese chicken rice, fragrant roast duck, freshly made dandan noodles and Chinese pumpkin cake.
Multi-generational groups can enjoy heartwarming family reunions as they gather at the lively Aura Pool Bar, where the Asian dinner menu is enhanced with a variety of Chinese regional specialties. Piquant dishes such as stir-fried beef with freshly ground cumin and pepper and mouthwatering steamed chicken with Sichuan chili oil are balanced by lighter favourites, including steamed fish with house-made soy and vinegar, and tofu with wild mushrooms and scallion, to suit different palates.
To complement the menu, resident mixologists have created imaginative cocktails, such as Shanghai, made with sesame-washed vodka; the gin-based Moon Delight; and Iron Highball, made with Tieguanyin tea.
The pool bar’s enhanced Asian menu is available from February 1 to 12 during the select evenings that Aura opens for dinner.
From 13 to 29 February, Aura will bring back its popular hot pot selection, where guests can choose from four carefully prepared soup bases: aromatic Sichuan broth with chilli paste; Malaysian-style fish; chicken; and 12-hour slow-simmered mushroom broth, as well as generous meat, seafood and vegetarian selections.
With the spring festival also a time for rest and reflection, guests can also indulge in wellness experiences at the overwater Amingiri Spa. Treatments include wellness experiences such as A Little Bit of Everything, a 30-minute targeted massage for two persons, and the 60-minute Tranquil Escape, which begins with a traditional foot washing followed by an aromatic traditional Balinese massage and detoxifying facial techniques combined with a head massage.
Both experiences include a soothing paraffin wax for the feet, accompanied by a signature tea of choice. Gentle stretches and guided meditation round out the restorative journey.
At Krakengiri Kids’ Club, certified childcare professionals will lead a week-long program that includes cherry blossom painting, dragon-mask making and lantern crafts. One of the largest kids’ clubs in the Maldives, the purpose-built facility features an outdoor children’s play pool and mini splash park. The interior accommodates a nap room and a quiet toddler’s room that is separate from the more visually stimulating arts and crafts area, finished with an interactive doodle wall.
