The Tourism Ministry’s latest statistics reveal a remarkable milestone for Maldives tourism, with 8,900 tourists flocking to the archipelago on the 3rd of this month. This notable influx marks the highest number of visitors on a single day thus far this year.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, 4th February also saw the second-highest turnout, with 8,032 tourists. January 13th stands out as another noteworthy day for Maldives tourism, with 7,703 tourists indulging in its offerings, marking the third-highest turnout this year.
Before this, 2019 saw the highest daily tourist arrivals, peaking at 9,000 tourists.
Cumulative statistics reveal that the Maldives has welcomed a total of 236,730 tourists so far this year, representing a 13.7% increase compared to the same period last year, underscoring its enduring allure as a global holiday hotspot. Leading the charge, China emerges as the primary contributor, with 28,304 visitors. Italy follows closely behind with 23,749 tourists, while Russia secures its place in the top ranks with 21,399 visitors.
