Meanwhile, the MS Riviera, registered in the Marshall Islands, arrived in Malé on Monday with 2,004 passengers onboard. Hundreds of tourists have already disembarked to explore the Maldives, and the ship is set to depart Malé on Tuesday. The MS Riviera’s arrival, along with the Norwegian Sky, further highlights the growing presence of cruise tourism in the Maldives, as more travellers opt for these luxurious voyages to experience the islands.

The arrival of these two cruise liners, along with a consistent flow of international visitors, has significantly contributed to the growth of tourism in the Maldives. With total arrivals surpassing 2 million this year, the Maldives remains a top destination for travellers worldwide. This increase is supported by both cruise ship arrivals and the growing number of direct flights to the Maldives.
