Maldivian, The National Airline of the Maldives, announced its expansion into long-haul operations at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, one of the leading international travel trade event, held at Excel London from 5th to 7th November 2024.
The airline showcased a promotional video introducing its first wide-body aircraft, the Airbus A330-200, to its fleet. This expansion project, backed by the Maldives government, aims to boost the country’s tourism industry by enabling direct long-haul flights to destinations worldwide.
The participation in WTM this year celebrates a new era for Maldivian. The airline’s commitment to expanding its global reach will not only support the Maldives’ thriving tourism sector but also strengthen business ties with regions around the globe.
In early 2025, Maldivian will launch new routes to major cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu, further enhancing connectivity to the Maldives.
