Ennismore, the London-based hotel and hospitality firm, has appointed Hirshard Mohamed Burhan as the Director of Food & Beverage for the new SO/ Maldives resort, slated to open this November 2023 on a stunning private island overlooking Emboodhoo Lagoon.
At SO/ Maldives, Hirshard will oversee all of the resort’s food & beverage operations, striving to elevate the property’s culinary offerings, from the Mediterranean-infused Lazuli Beach Club to the all-day Pan-Asian inspired The Citronelle Club and signature Levantine restaurant Hadaba.
“It’s an exciting challenge to be joining the team of SO/ Maldives as there are many systems to create, implement and organize ahead of the opening in a few months. I’m truly honored and eager to contribute to this brand-new project in such a special location,” says Hirshard of his new role.
Originally from Sri Lanka, where his hospitality journey began, Hirshard initially had his heart set on becoming an artist but soon developed a passion for hospitality. Prior to joining Ennismore, he worked across several regions of the continent, ranging from high-end luxury properties in Dubai to working closely with the Royal Palaces of Riyad and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. A few of his previous roles brought him to the Maldives, including his latest as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage for the Raffles Maldives Meradhoo.
A man of many talents, with over two decades of hospitality to his name, Hirshard brings a wealth of experience and expert skillset to SO/. His drive to learn and continuously deliver a tailor-made service to guests make him a true asset to the team.
