As a pool attendant, he has gone beyond his duties to create unforgettable moments for guests. In an insightful conversation, Sattar shared his experiences and the unique ways he brings joy to visitors.
Sattar’s journey with the resort began almost 20 years ago, and since then, Cinnamon Dhonveli has felt like family. “I started working at Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives almost 20 years ago. From the very beginning, this resort has felt like my family, and the sense of teamwork here is something I truly value,” he said. “It’s not just about the job; it’s about the people I work with and the guests I have the pleasure of meeting every day.”
His role as a pool attendant has allowed him to create memorable experiences for guests, always seeking ways to exceed expectations.
One of Sattar’s passions is creating flower decorations, a hobby that began in his spare time. What started as a simple activity became much more meaningful when he saw the joy it brought to guests. “It started out as a way to make use of my spare moments, but when I saw the joy and surprise on the guests’ faces, it quickly became something much more meaningful to me,” he explained.
His flowers and decorations have become highlights of guests’ stays, adding a personal touch to special occasions.
Sattar’s dedication begins before sunrise. He arrives before 6 a.m. to pick the freshest blooms from the resort’s garden, ensuring they remain vibrant. After his pool duties, he spends his time crafting garlands, bouquets, and other decorations for occasions. “My mornings start early, well before 6 a.m., so I can handpick the freshest blooms and ensure they remain vibrant throughout the day,” he shared. “These creations are meant for moments that matter—whether it’s a guest’s birthday, anniversary, or a private marquee dinner.”
Sattar is deeply touched by the positive reactions from guests. “I’m always touched when guests come to Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives specifically asking for me after reading reviews or hearing stories about my decorations,” he said. His work resonates with many, and the connection he forms with guests keeps him motivated to continue his efforts.
For Sattar, small gestures are the key to creating lasting memories. “I believe that it’s the little things that make the biggest impact. For many guests, visiting the Maldives is the fulfilment of a long-held dream, and I want to be a part of making their experience even more special,” he reflected.
His role extends beyond pool maintenance; it’s about enhancing every guest’s experience. “Seeing their smiles and knowing that I’ve contributed to their happiness brings me immense joy and a true sense of purpose in what I do,” he said.
